Employees of Translation and Localization Company arte.doc attended the CESAR and META-NET forum which took place on May 2, 2012 in "Sheraton" hotel, Sofia. There they had the opportunity to get acquainted with the newest European software products in the field of computer-aided translation and to hear the presentations of lecturers from Bulgaria and the EU, who presented technologies for automatic translation developed under different projects, views about their development and practical application in reaching the consumers, opportunities for funding by the EC under various programs in the field of information and communication technologies, problems and challenges in the sector and draft projects for the next program period.
Future new fields of application were outlined for these technologies, whose purpose is to facilitate and stimulate trans-border cultural, economic, scientific and other types of contact between the citizens and companies of the EU, meanwhile conserving and encouraging linguistic and cultural variety.
